Ham & Beans

INGREDIENTS
1lb Pinto Beans
1/2 Large Onion, diced
1 envelope Onion Soup Mix
2 cups Ham, cubed
2 chunks Ham fat
1 Tbs Garlic, minced
To Taste Parsley
To Taste Salt
To Taste Louisiana Hot Sauce
To Taste Pepper

DIRECTIONS
1. Prepare beans according to directions on bag. Rinse.
2. Place in slower cooker / crock pot, add water to cover, allow to simmer for 16 hours, adding spices, hot sauce, soup mix and garlic at this time, and cover with lid.
3. Taste test every couple of hours and add spices to taste.
4. Server over rice or as is. May add cheese, sour cream, salsa or whatever you wish. Great for dipping bread or rolls. Excellent with cornbread or on tortilla’s.
